DADA stores presents a month long jumble sales event holding from the 4th of June till the 30th of June 2011. Tagged Serendipity Summer Sales, items on sale will be amazingly affordable and would range from house hold items like bed sheets to personal items like wallets, fashion items like bangles and of course, your favourite book titles from DADA books, Farafina, Cassava Republic, Festac Books and lots and lots of comics! Watch out for movies from Mainframe Productions, some of your favourite music CDs and of course great discounts all round! Stay tuned for updates on Serendipity Parties holding every Saturday in June as part of the Summer Sales event. You never know what you might discover and you never know who you’ll meet!

12th LAGOS BOOK AND ART FESTIVAL, LABAF 2010: AN INVITE

THE Committee for Relevant Art, CORA, organisers of the Lagos Book and Art Festival, LABAF, invites you to the 12th edition holding November 12 through 14 at the National Theatre in Lagos.   According to the Festival secretariat located on 95 Bode Thomas street, Surulere, Lagos, the programmes have been designed to specifically target aspects of the theme for the year, which is Literacy and the Notion of Freedom. 1ST CORA HIP HOP CONFERENCE

In keeping with its role as cultural landscapist, the Committee for Relevant Art (CORA) is billed to convene its first Hip Hop conference as a direct intervention in the blossoming of a popular youth culture and its attendant music and sound.

Set to hold on Sunday the 26th of July 2009 from 2pm till 6pm at the main Exhibition Hall, National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos, this first Hip Hop Conference is planned to provide a platform for leading proponents of hip hop music and hip hop culture and other enthusiasts to critically evaluate the musical output / cultural production from amongst their cadre in the past decade, in peer review sessions moderated by CORA.











This conference is intended to provide material for scholars and journalists working in the field of youth culture and to aggregate a cross section of perspectives on the successes and failures of a fast growing industry from the leading proponents of the music genre in question. The event will be covered extensively by the press in print and electronic media.
