Runway to Event: Olivia Palermo, Genevieve Nnaji in Mango Spring 2011 Collection

Socialite, model and actress, Olivia Plermo sure got style and I always adore her delectable style. Olivia and Genevieve wore this same outfit on different occasions ofcourse but with this looks right here I have to give it to Nigerian actress Genevieve Nnaji.

The gown is from Mango Spring 2011 collection and I love it! Somehow the gown sits well on Genevieve and I just love her pose for two reasons;(a) it shows her beautiful physique which I love btw (b) it shows the beauty of the outfit ...lol

All Things Bright and Yellow

There is a short story I compiled on colours, I'll start off this week with the colour YELLOW. And that's why I've titled this post: All Things Bright and Yellow: How to Wear Yellow Right this Season

Bring a ray of sunshine to your summer wardrobe with some warm, bright yellow. The spring/summer catwalks were awash with this vibrant shade. There are many different shades of yellow, ranging from ice-cream yellow pastels to warmer mustard tones.

To make the colour work for you, it's important to pick the right shade for your skin tone.
The colour works best teamed with creams, beiges and khakis. So pair a sunflower shirt with pale wash jeans, or a buttercup yellow jacket with a khaki safari skirt and a nude top.

For a bolder look, you could wear it with navy for nautical style, or black and white. Accessorise with gold jewellery - chunky bangles and chains work well - then add brown, taupe or cream bags and shoes to finish.

If wearing such a bright colour scares you, then start with an accessory – pumps, a vibrant watch or a tote bag.

A Sense of African Style

Michelle Obama arrived in South Africa few days ago dressed in a beautiful long sleeve orange and black print jacket from Duro Olowu (British-Nigerian). The jacket is from Olowu’s 2010 Fall/Winter Collections. The First Lady paired her jacket with black pants and blue flats

Wardrobe Trend: The Skirt Dress

I hate boring. Whenever I'm bored I try to do everything possible to excite myself, I call up friends to hangout, I take weird/funny pictures of myself and laugh it off, I play dress up and sometimes Google silly questions.

As much as I love my skirts, shorts especially, it gets really annoying sometimes when I try on my long skirts and do not really feel good about them. So, it was easy, during one of my boring moods i gathered my skirts and played dress up again. Below is a picture of my favourite long skirt(a gift from a friend)after looking through and through I decided to wear it as a dress, and hey it worked.

I loved the outcome, so I decided to wear it to one of the Fela! in Lagos shows that happened over the hols. I also pictures from few friends who have tried the style, it made me love the idea more.
